Water is one of the key ingredients for life and normal bodily function. Our bodies are approximately 70% water. Muscles comprise 75%, blood 83% bone 22%, the brain 75%. A 5% reduction of fluid in our body affects muscle & brain function. In infants, a 10% to 20% reduction can be fatal. For many reasons most people we see in our clinic or when demonstrating in classes & lectures are dehydrated.

Some people are chronically dehydrated & their bodies have adapted by shutting down functions not directly related to survival.

Feeling tired, sluggish, poor concentration, apathy, fatigue, dry skin, rashes, co-ordination problems, mood swings, senility, toxaemia, pain, swelling & oedema are all symptoms of hydration problems.

Tea, coffee, fruit juice, alcohol & soft drinks are processed in the body as food & in some cases actually dehydrate the body, as can cigarettes, drugs, poor diet, mental or emotional fatigue, toxic fumes or chemicals, “packaged” vitamins, minerals, supplements & electromagnetic & geo-pathic radiation.

The body is a hydraulic system, with water playing a key rule in most functions. If we do not consume enough water as we age we “dry out” & shrink in size & capabilities. Water is needed by the body to flush out toxins & poisons. It helps keep skin supple & healthy, reduces the affects of ageing & can assist in losing weight. Water ionises salts, which provides the electrolyte environment for electrochemical conduction of nerve impulses. The polarity of membranes is increased which results in more effective nerve firing. The oxygen affinity of haemoglobin is improved,1,000-10,000 times leading to better oxygenation of the blood. Energy is generated by movement of water in the body.

Kidney function is affected by reduced water intake. Psoas, Iliacus & Upper Trapezius are muscles on the kidney meridian. These muscles affect the lower back & neck. Balancing hydration can assist with back & neck problems. (See the Level 4 workshop manual for more information).

We have found emotional & mental stress influences hydration especially where people don’t like or won’t drink water. In many cases there has been a traumatic event associated with water, drowning or near drowning, scalds, etc. Correcting the underlying emotion or belief system may be required first.

Properties of Water

• Water plays an essential hydrolytic (water-dependent chemical reactions) role in all aspects of body metabolism.
• The osmotic flow of water through the membrane can generate hydroelectric energy (voltage) that is converted & stored in the energy pools in form of ATP & GTP – two vital cell battery systems.
• Water forms a particular structure, pattern & shape that seems to be employed as the adhesive material in the bondage of the cell architecture.
• Products manufactured in the brain cells are transported in small waterways along the length of the nerve to the nerve endings, to be used for transmission of messages.
• Proteins & the enzymes of the body function more efficiently in lower viscosity (internal friction) solutions. In higher viscosity solutions (in a dehydrated state) proteins & enzymes become less efficient
• Water, the solvent of the body, regulates all functions, including the activities of the solutes it dissolves & circulates.

Chronic cellular dehydration painfully and prematurely kills.
