Who do we listen to? Normally we turn to family or friends, people who know us. That is the first myth, no one ever really knows another person. Well intentioned, most of our inner circle will try and bring us down when we try and raise ourselves up.
Listening to someone who is going to believe in us, someone who has been where we are or has what we want is the key.
We seek relationship advice from people who’s own relationships are a mess. We take business advice from Aunt Betty who has never run a business in their life. We seek spiritual advice from people who are more earth bound than we are.
If we want to succeed we need to choose wisely who we listen too and who we share our dreams with. Many around us will try and belittle your dreams, the dream stealers.
Who do we listen to? In the end it is always ourselves. We are the only one who knows what is best for us. Listening to our thoughts can lead to distraction, listening to our hearts, our true inner feelings is our best guide.
Actioning our feelings scares most of us, taking that risk, leaving the relationship, entering a new one, starting that business. Building and living our dreams.
For some time I belonged to a success club and the main lecturer was Kevin Trudeau. Kevin is currently in gaol facing a long sentence. There are websites totally dedicated to attacking him. With that aside Kevin is one person I listen to. He is a master of collection, and dissemination of information. His approach is easy to listen to and grounded in a powerful teaching style. After listening it is easy to remember the material and it is incredibly uplifting.
So many are focussed on Kevin being a guru or a scammer, they put him on a pedestal or in the pits (Dr John DeMartini) and forget to focus on the message. It is the message that matters not the messenger. Any focus on Kevin personally totally misses the point. He carries a profound message, which if listened to can enhance our lives.
The Global Information Network set up by Kevin provides access to an amazing array of life enriching training. It is the training that made it great, not the cult of personality and god like reverence paid to one person. It totally misses the whole training when people allow themselves to become followers, when clearly the training and Kevin himself enforces the concept of leadership. It highlights beautifully Who do you listen too!
It is the message not the messenger,it is the content not the container.
A group of former students came to visit their old professor. As they sat talking the professor made a pot of coffee. He brought out an array of cups from the most expensive to the cheap.
As they sat drinking and chatting about what was wrong in their lives the professor spoke up and pointed out they all had chosen the expensive cups. He continued to draw attention to the fact it was the coffee not the container that mattered.

How many of us focus on the container and not the content. In the GIN case how many are focussed on their guru and not the message? In our own lives how many are looking for the guru ,the saviour, not the salvation? On definition for Guru, Gee You Are You.
Who do we listen to? Who? Why? What is the content we desire? Why are we asking the question in the first place?
By all means listen to others, be open and in the end listen to your own heart. Follow your passion.
