“The Elephants Knew some will say there is no God, try and tell that to the elephants….. THE ELEPHANTS’ JOURNEY TO PAY RESPECT, BUT HOW DID THEY KNOW? Lawrence Anthony, a legend in South Africa and author of 3 books including the bestseller, The Elephant Whisperer. He bravely rescued wildlife and rehabilitated elephants all over the globe from human atrocities, including the courageous rescue of Baghdad Zoo animals during US invasion in 2003. On March 7, 2012 Lawrence Anthony died. He is remembered and missed by his wife, 2 sons, 2 grandsons, and numerous elephants. Two days after his passing, the wild elephants showed up at his home led by two large matriarchs. Separate wild herds arrived in droves to say goodbye to their beloved ‘man-friend’. A total of 31 elephants had patiently walked over 12 miles to get to his South African House. Witnessing this spectacle, humans were obviously in awe not only because of the supreme intelligence and precise timing that these elephants sensed about Lawrence’s passing, but also because of the profound memory and emotion the beloved animals evoked in such an organised way: Walking slowly, for days, making their way in a solemn one-by-one queue from their habitat to his house. Lawrence’s wife, Francoise, was especially touched, knowing that the elephants had not been to his house prior to that day for well over 3 years! But yet they knew where they were going. The elephants obviously wanted to pay their deep respects, honouring their friend who’d saved their lives – so much respect that they stayed for 2 days 2 nights without eating anything. Then one morning, they left, making their long journey back home.”

 SOMETHING

IN THE UNIVERSE

IS GREATER

AND DEEPER

THAN HUMAN INTELLIGENCE.

IN GOD WE TRUST

What is it going to take to shift the minds and hearts of those who pay homage to the illusion of the unholy dollar, materialism and their breakneck rush to destroy the planet and everything on it? One wonders if humanity has the ability to see it’ s own folly, to see that the obsession with material stuff is a false god and love, respect and decency are the only currencies of value. We continue directly or indirectly to rape, pillage and destroy our fellow humans through slavery and our planet with blind-less  greed.

No one is immune from this destruction. Our world is dying because too few good people do something, while the rest of us do nothing. We all buy products containing palm oil, we all support companies in there race to the bottom and the destruction of our food sources. A majority vote for politicians who legalise racism, bigotry and hatred.

If  a dog, cat or elephant can show respect, what happened to humans? Are we really just  inter-spacial hybrid drones dropped off on the edge of the universe to work as slaves for a global elite? Are we worthless carbon units immune to the highest qualities of love, nurturing and beauty?

We all pay lip service to being caring, sharing  and loving people, yet our actions betray our cold, heartless, uncaring selves. Most parents on this planet are unwillingly stealing the future from their offspring. We are leaving a legacy of destruction that will take the best and brightest to turn around. It will take a level of love and compassion that far exceeds anything humanity has ever seen.

It will be a case of never in the history of man will so many owed so much to so few.

Left to the whims of the vast sleeping masses our planet will die. Fortunately every critical situation draws out the greatness of the few to enable all to live a better life.  As Churchill stood alone against the cowardice of the masses in his own country, betrayal by his allies and might of the darkness that swept Europe, our young visionaries will step forward and ignite a global change so powerful, even those lost in the darkness of their slumber will awaken the unlimited potential within themselves.

Even in the darkest heart, smoulders a flame of greatness, the spark of love, only at the point of total devastation will some ignite that flame and like the elephants, pay homage to their highest aspects of love.

Humans have far more to learn from animals, than they us.
