For most of us our thoughts control our lives, what we do, be and have is governed by the thinking processes we choose to engage. Most of these thoughts in actuality begin and originate with someone or something else. Sometimes we pick them up directly from our local environment and those close. Others slip in via the collective, from people, organisations and structures such as school, churches, government and science. The media governs the way most people think today.
Thinking for oneself has always been a risky business, many have been ostracised, others like Jesus, Lennon, Lincoln, Kennedy, Joan of Arc paid the supreme sacrifice, death.
When we begin the journey towards free thinking many things change and we begin to feel a little crazy. What we thought was real, now seems the opposite. Thinking for ourselves opens a lot of doors, which at times might have seemed better if we had left them closed.
Modern research is backing up what the mystics have always said. We are what we think. Napoleon Hill’s great book Think and Grow Rich has been a best seller for a long time as it points us to the power of our Thinking.
Our thinking does indeed create our future and our Now. What we think about now creates rockets of desire that we fire off towards our future. If they are laced with an inspired outlook we tend to draw that to us. If our thinking is laced with negativity and old similar programming, you guessed it, that is what we attract.
We become what we think about most of the time – Earle Nightingale.
Making the effort to redirect and create our desired outcome can be a lot of fun, we activate the creative juices and fire up our passion, aiming us towards a better us. Spending time visualising and dreaming of a better future can make a difference.
Is there more to it?
Well yes, there is a lot more and a couple of simple changes can speed up the creative process. Choosing to think in a constructive way begins about changes in our feelings. We begin to feel better about our decisions, we begin to think more about what we really want. The cycle spirals upwards.
Without realising most people who recommend this way of goal setting and creative visualisation have put the cart before the horse. Our brain is a powerful processor, our thoughts are things.
Very little changes when we use just our thoughts, the same is true if come from a feeling space. The real real magic explodes when we connect our heart and our brain and focus our attention on the end result. It is the combined effort of our feelings married with our thoughts that drives the change.
Sometimes no matter how hard we try nothing happens or if it does it is not sustained for any duration. There may be a very good reasons;
- We may be thinking or feeling separately
- We may be thinking we are feeling
- We may be feeling we are thinking
Thinking is more like English, feeling more like French. While some words make sense most of the time the communication is poor and ineffective. Stress leads to this crossswired effect and inhibits our true expression. We are putting out low energy frequencies due to the misunderstanding within ourselves. People who have been emotionally damaged tend to ere on the side of safety and live in their heads, stay focussed in their limited ego. Everything is run through the filters of their brain. Those more focussed in their emotions tend to view the world emotionally and influence there thoughts by how they are feeling.
When we are in heartspace, the heart connects with the brain and we have a more balanced view, we feel and express our emotions and we think and create our thoughts. By living a more heart centred life our brain is more focussed on what we really want and with creative use of our imagination we can begin to build better lives for ourselves and change the planet in the process.
Be the change you wis to see in the world. Gandhi.
