Our ability to comprehend, understand and create solutions is the purpose of learning.
From our first to our last breath we are learning: new skills, ideas and concepts and better ways of doing things.
Jimmy Barnes the former lead singer of Cold Chisel said recently (something to this effect). “Every mistake has made me a better person“. Learning is about finding solutions and making mistakes is part of the learning process.
Learning involves many different types of intelligence:
- Physical
- Emotional
- Inter personal
- Intra personal
- Maths
- Music
- Science
The list is endless. Each of us has our own unique combination of intelligences. This is not always clearly understood in the “education” of children and ourselves.
Learning problems are wide reaching, sometimes covert (hidden) and are always damaging to ourselves our those around us. Our prisons are full of people with learning problems as is every office block, building site, workplace and classroom.
Learning problems may effect:
- Negative beliefs about oneself, lack of confidence, unworthiness, etc.
- Poor communication skills
- Poor people skills
- Trouble with reading, writng, comprehension
- Emotional outbursts and an inability to control our emotions
- Addictive behaviour, drugs, alochol, cigarettes, caffiene, sugar, etc.
- Health issues
Few recognise the breadth of the issue. It is not unreasonable to suggest that the vast majority of people are functioning below their optimum level of intelligence. Many parents, employers, politicians and teachers are themselves intellectually challenged in certain areas of their own lives, hence fail to recognise the condition in others.
An inability to learn is the greatest issue facing the human race. Our underdeveloped intelligence is leading us towards exinction, our own or that of the whole planet.
What to do.
MK has many tools to assist learning. Making some basis changes may assist. Working with a MK practioner will help.
- Drink water, at least two litres a day. Try drinking one 200ml glass per hour for 10 hours. Drink it slowly and take the whole hour if necessary. Drinking water fast usually results in a trip to the toilet.
- Breath. When breathinfg expand your chest and abdomen. Breathing into the chest activates the left (logical) brain. Breathing into the stoamch activates the right (creative) brain. When one brain dominates we have a learning probelm scenario.
- Exercise. Walk regularly. Do the x-crawl action. Let me explain. When your left hip comes forward your right shoulders comes forward. Your torso turns at the waist (not from the hip). This activates both siides of the brain by forcing information across the brain’s switchboard (the corpus collusum) Do the x-crawl 3 times a day for 1-2 minutes.
- Change the Self-Talk Changing from negative destruction self chatter to positive constructive inner dialogue helps greatly. Instead of telling yourself you are dumb, stupid, an idiot, etc, start giving yourself some credit. Some find this hard. Remember if you are still on the planet you have done something right. There are no bad people, just inappropriate thinking.and actions. I say this sincerely “Please get over believing you are not OK” Try the Simply Love It technique and say to yourself “I love being stupid.”I love thinking I am dumb. I love feeling worthless” Say it to yourself and you will be surprised at how quickly you change your mind. You are not doing affirmations. You are not trying to change from the outside in, you are changing from the inside out.
- Eat healthy. Increase our intake of natural food, especially fruit and vegetables Reduce drugs, sugar, unnatural fats and fast food.
- Forgive Yourself and Others.
Sometimes the issue is easy to resolve, other times we need the assistance of a Motivational Kinesiologist. Recently I came across some material I had been working on years ago. I would draw an X on some paper then draw a square around it. From this I could muscle test to find out which parts of the brain were not communicating.
This technique can be used to check communication between regions of the Brain:
- Right to Left
- Left to Right
- Left Front to Right Back
- Right Front to Left Back
- Front to Back, Right Side
- Front to Back, Left Side
- Front to Front – Both Ways
- Back to Back – Both Ways
Once the blocked areas are found I use the Motivational Kinesiolgy techniques to unlock the solution. This technique has been working very well in the clinic recently.
