Sometimes we forget that our thoughts and feelings are the powerhouse of our lives. Some are yet to come to this conclusion. Underlying every aspect of our lives is a belief or an emotion. I have found this so true after 25 years of working with people.

Feel or Think

In any situation no matter how far down in the dumps we get we can always begin to feel better, we have the choice of staying stuck in the mire or choosing an emotions higher up the scale than where we are.

  • Shame can be improved with Guilt,
  • Guilt with Apathy
  • Apathy with Grief
  • Grief with Fear
  • Fear with Desire
  • Desire with  Anger
  • Anger withPride
  • Pride with Courage
  • Courage with Neutrality
  • Neutrality with Willingness
  • Willingness with Acceptance
  • Acceptance with Reason
  • Reason with Love
  • Love with Joy
  • Joy with Peace
  • Peace with Enlightenment

Most times we need to pick an emotional state slightly above where we are and work ourselves up to the higher states. Going from Shame to Acceptance, for example, is a bridge to far and will probably cause more stress than needed. Take baby steps and work up the scale.
