“Mental Health” issues are on the rise.
Physical Health issues are on the rise.
When we look through western industrial revolution eyes we see unrelated issues and do not make the necessary connections.
Are the symptoms we call depression, anxiety and mental stress related to our physical health and lifestyles?
The digestion system produces many of the chemicals the brain uses
Dehydration has a negative effect on our ability to think
An over acidic body affects many chemical reactions and we use up amino acids to bring the system back to balance
Lack of exercise or over exercising in a toxic environment (indoors) contribute to increasing the toxin load within our systems
Breathing positive charged (air conditioning) air all day messes with the brain chemistry
The solution may be easier than we think, yet to “hard” for many.
Drink mineral rich alkaline water
Breath negatively ion charged air
Stop and breath, take a couple of long slow breaths and relax on the out breath
Look into a more alkaline diet
Meditate, pray, be mindful for al least 20 minutes a day
Weed out the “I can’t do it” thought patterns
Smile, laugh, sing, do whatever to takes to shift your stuck thinking and feeling states
Associate with inspiring people. Don’t know any – read books about them, watch videos
Stop Think Act
There is enough research for those who want to look to show that some of the conditions we label as mental health may turn out to be physical imbalances that make the brain stop functioning correctly.
My recent book Kissing the Black Dog discusses some of the creative solutions.
