Since deciding to focus my attention on depression and anxiety, i have found there is a lot of fascinating information and opinions available. It does not surprise me that so many people still focus on the drug based suppression of the condition. It works for them.

On the other side of the coin is a growing amount of interest in actually solving the issue and moving forward with life.

Like in most things in life it is a human trait to take the easy path. It is either right or wrong, it is what most people are accustomed to. The idea that we can actually cure ourselves is a little off key, a touch wacky. Yet more and more people are realising that drugs are not a cure, they are a bandaid suppressing and blocking true healing from occurring.

The idea that water or food could help, or that our thinking is the most powerful healing tool other than love is strange to the profit based illness industry and it’s consumers. A large swath of  depressed and anxious people have fallen under the spell of the concept of the magic bullet, the wonder pill that will block their emotional and mental pain. Humans dislike pain and try to avoid it at any cost. True healing occurs when we can learn to love all that stuff we find unacceptable. We grow into mature humans when we can release our fear and open up to a higher form of love.

Being stuck is draining and there are so many factors that lead us to depression and anxiety. Outside of the drug loop there are many creative and healthy ways to rediscover our enthusiasm and drive for life.

Which road we take is governed by the discision to cover up the pain or resolve the underlying issues
