Thought i would share this, i was reading an ebook and it discussed an exercise about speaking with your heart and asking questions. I liked the idea, so sat back closed my eyes and asked my heart a question about an issue that was very important to me.

What happened next was like a comedy skit, the image of a jewish New Yorker, balding and smoking a cigar waving his hands in the air saying.

“Crazy, are you crazy, what were you thinking. OMG!. You are crazy, she is the most amazing woman ever. She is a goddess, no one comes close.”

On he went with a tirade  of colourful expletives. I was engrossed in this vision, it was so real, it was as if there really was this crazy New Yorker, ripping into me as only a New Yorker can. The comedy continued, i smiled as i wondered why our inner vision, our inner voice must always seem quiet, centred and heavenly, this character was off the rails as it ranted and raved at what it considered my insanity.

Enlightenment, personal growth, visions, whatever title one wishes to apply does not have to be boring, treated with reverence, hushed silence and blind obedience. Sometimes the messages do not arrive in saintly contemplation, sometimes, they are edgy, gritty and earthy.

I hope next time i ask my heart a question it delivers with such colour, enthusiasm and directness. The message was received loud and clear and in a fashion that will be long remembered.

Life may be a comedy after all.

If your inner heart voice is a little quiet and timid, check out if the crazy New Yorker is in there somewhere, he will lighten your day.
